Booking
How do I book a session?
Book directly online: choose your service, pick a date and time, and pay the 50% deposit to secure it. You'll get a confirmation straight away. If you're not sure what you need yet, send an enquiry instead and we'll reply with a plan and a quote.
Do you work with new and unsigned artists?
Yes. We work with independent artists, labels, managers and podcasters. If you are serious about the record, we are interested.
Can we work remotely?
Yes. Mixing, mastering and a lot of production can happen remotely: you send files, we send back mixes and masters, and we talk notes over a call or message.
Where is the studio?
We're based in London, England. The exact studio location is shared when your session is confirmed. If you'd rather record somewhere else, the mobile studio can come to you.
What should I bring to a recording session?
Your lyrics, the beat or instrumental (WAV if you have it), reference tracks you like the sound of, and headphones if you prefer your own. Arrive warmed up: you'll get more out of the time.
Files & delivery
How should I send files for mixing?
Export every track as a separate WAV stem from the same start point, at the session sample rate (24-bit preferred), with no effects on the master bus. Include a rough mix and any reference tracks. A shared Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer link works.
What do I get at the end?
Release-ready WAV files, plus MP3s for listening. Clean, instrumental and a cappella versions are available on request. Everything is clearly named so it can go straight to your distributor.
How long does a mix or master take?
It depends on the project and the schedule at the time, so we'll give you a delivery date with your quote before anything starts.
Why does a bigger mix cost more?
Mixing starts from £250, which includes a radio edit and renders in WAV, MP3 and AAC at various bitrates. Larger projects take more time, so the price is based on the total number of stems. We confirm it before we start.
How many revisions do I get?
Revision rounds are agreed up front as part of the quote, so you know exactly what is included before we begin.
Payments
How much does it cost?
Studio time is £50 an hour, mobile sessions are £50 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, and plug-and-play dry hire is £30 an hour with a 3-hour minimum. Mixing starts from £250 per track, mastering is £75, and a mix and master together starts from £300. Production starts from £350 including an exclusive licence, podcasts are £75 per episode, and distribution is £25 per release or £35 for express. See the pricing page for what each includes.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A 50% deposit of the session fee is paid when you book. It secures your date and covers session preparation. The remaining balance is settled as set out in your booking confirmation.
How do I pay?
Deposits are paid securely online at the time of booking through our booking system, Calendly, and you receive a confirmation and receipt by email.
Do you offer EP or album rates?
Yes. Booking several tracks together usually works out better value than single tracks. Mention it in your enquiry.
Mobile sessions
Where can the mobile studio go?
Anywhere in England, and abroad for international bookings. Writing camps, artist homes, events and video shoots all work.
What do you need from us for a mobile session?
A reasonably quiet room, access to power and some time for setup. We bring the recording setup and take care of the rest.
Are travel costs included?
Travel and, for longer trips, accommodation are quoted separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Rights & credits
Who owns the music?
Ownership, publishing splits and credits are agreed in writing before release. For productions this is set out in a split sheet; for mixing and mastering you keep full ownership of your music.
How should I credit DJTR Beats?
Credit the role on the record, for example "Produced by DJTR Beats" or "Mixed by DJTR Beats", in your distributor metadata and on streaming platforms so the credit shows up on Spotify and Apple Music.
Can I buy beats?
The Beat Store is coming soon, with leases and exclusives. Until it opens, ask about available beats through the contact form.
Distribution & lyric sync
What is music distribution?
Distribution is how your song gets onto streaming platforms. We upload your track, artwork and details to digital streaming platforms so listeners around the world can play it on whichever service they use.
Can you distribute music you didn’t produce?
Yes. We distribute songs, videos and other releases whether we worked on them or they were made elsewhere.
How much does distribution cost?
A standard release is £25, including lyric sync. An express release is £35. Artists whose project we have contributed to production on may qualify for a revenue share plan instead, with no upfront fee.
How does the revenue share plan work?
If we contributed to the production of your project, you may qualify to release with no upfront fee. In return we take 10% of the streaming royalties from that release. The percentage is open to discussion.
Do I keep my royalties?
On a fixed-fee release, yes: you pay once and the royalties are yours. On a revenue share plan, you keep the royalties apart from the agreed share.
How far ahead should I send my release?
We recommend 3–4 weeks before your release date. That leaves time for store review, pre-saves and playlist pitching. If you are short on time, our express service can get a release live in under a week.
Can I get lyric sync on an express release?
No. Lyric sync can’t be fast-tracked, so it isn’t available on express releases. Book the standard timeline if you want synced lyrics on release day.
What is lyric sync?
Lyric sync shows your lyrics in time with the music on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, line by line as the song plays. Fans can read and sing along, which makes the song more immersive and keeps them listening.
What do I need to send?
Your final WAV master, artwork (3000 × 3000 pixels), lyrics, credits for everyone on the song, and your preferred release date. We’ll tell you if anything else is needed.
Do you provide ISRC and UPC codes?
Yes. We provide the ISRC codes for your tracks and the UPC for your release, so you don’t need to buy them separately.
Will you set up my artist profiles?
Yes. We can set up and claim your Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles, so your photo, bio and releases look right from day one.
Do you help with promotion?
Every release can include a pre-save link, a pitch to Spotify’s editorial playlists, and a Release Radar and email push to your followers on release day.
